Who we are
Buying Together (buyingtogether.co.uk) is a trading name of Nanoswift Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16216561, registered office 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX. Nanoswift Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZB874287. "We", "us" and "our" mean Nanoswift Ltd.
What we collect
To make your declaration of trust we collect what you type into the form:
- the property's address, title number, price and, if you've bought it, the date you bought it
- both owners' full names and addresses
- how much each of you put in, whether any of it was a gift, how much, and the name of the person who gave it
- your mortgage lender's name, if you enter it
- the choices you make about splitting the proceeds, costs, moving out and selling
- your email address
When you pay we also record that you asked for your declaration straight away and accepted losing your 14-day right to cancel, with the date and time you did so. Consumer law requires us to be able to show this.
We also note which page of our site you were on when you ordered and the website that sent you to us, if your browser tells us. We use this only to see which pages lead to orders.
If you enter details about your co-owner, or about someone who gave you a gift, please make sure they are happy for you to share them with us for this purpose.
Why we use it
We use your answers only to produce your declaration, let you download it again, and post printed copies if you order them. Our lawful basis is that we need it to perform our contract with you. We keep the record of your consent to immediate supply because the law requires it. We do not use your data for marketing, we do not send you newsletters, and we never sell or share your data with anyone except the suppliers below.
Who we share it with
- Stripe takes your payment. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Intelliprint prints and posts your copies, only if you order printed copies. They receive the document and the address it's going to.
- The company that hosts our website and database stores your answers on our behalf.
Cookies and browser storage
We don't use cookies, and we don't use advertising or tracking tools. Your browser keeps two small things on your own device:
- a copy of your answers while the tab is open, so you don't lose them if you cancel payment. It's deleted when you close the tab.
- a random code that lets this browser download your declaration again after you've paid. You can clear it with your browser's site data settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your answers so you can download your declaration again, for example on another device. You can delete them yourself at any time with the "Delete my data" button on your download page, or by emailing us. Stripe keeps its own record of your payment, which we need for our accounts.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email buyingtogether@nanoswift.co.uk from the address you used on the form and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Our site only works over an encrypted connection. Your declaration can only be downloaded once it's paid for, using the random code kept in your browser or by entering your email address on the download page. Deleting your data needs both.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data we'll update this page and the date at the top.
